EachOne TeachOne works with socio-economically deprived Panamanian children. Public education is free in Panama; however, subsistence farmers and manual laborers are unable to pay for mandatory registration fees, uniforms, school supplies, and transportation. Children learn in a one or two-room elementary school where teachers instruct three to six grades simultaneously. Elementary schools are an hour walk for most students, but middle and high schools are often a thirty-mile distance. Transportation is forty dollars a month to middle school, an unmanageable expense for a family with more than one child.

EachOne TeachOne currently supports two projects:

The Educational Attainment Project provides scholarships, academic support and leadership development seminars for young people who seek to continue their public school education. EachOne TeachOne currently offers scholarships for students residing in Buena Vista, La Chepa, and Lagunita, in the province of West Panama.

The Community Education Project supports the broader community as the educational successes of children is often linked to the education of his or her family and community members. The Community Education Center will host a modest library and computers for scholarship teams and community members. Summer preparation is offered to all interested students in sixth through twelfth grade.
